The Ivy
This sweet little nursery feels like something out of a French countryside storybook. I pulled together soft vintage florals, dusty blue accents, and light natural woods to create a space that feels peaceful, timeless, and just a little bit romantic. The floral rug might be my favorite part…it sets the tone for the whole room and makes everything feel layered and intentional without being too fussy.
I love how the white twisted-rope mirror and scalloped light fixture add subtle texture, and the soft blue drapery gives the room a touch of charm without overwhelming it. Everything in this space was chosen to feel calm, cozy, and baby-safe, using low-toxin materials that I’d feel good about in my own home.
If you’re dreaming of a vintage-inspired nursery that feels gentle, classic, and truly beautiful, this one might be just the inspiration you’ve been looking for.

Crib
This natural wood crib brings in that classic cottage feel with clean lines and timeless charm. The light oak tone pairs beautifully with both the rug and the dresser, and it’s made with non-toxic finishes so it’s as safe as it is pretty.
Mattress
A non-toxic, certified organic breathable crib mattress is one of the most important foundations for any nursery. This one checks all the boxes for safety and comfort. I used this brand in my own babies’ rooms!
Mattress Protector
I always recommend a waterproof protector that’s free from vinyl and noisy plastic. This one is soft, quiet, and made with safer materials. I suggest ordering 2 so you have a spare in case of messes :)
Soft, breathable, and GOTS certified, so no sketchy chemicals here...I love this brand and it’s exciting that they also sell on Amazon! These sheets mix beautifully with the rug and wall art for a layered, pulled-together look.
A quilt in soft blue adds a cozy layer to the glider and brings that soothing color to the other side of the room. It'll be perfect for laying on the floor for tummy time, draping over your nursery chair to keep the upholstery clean, and bundling up in the stroller.
This framed bouquet print was one of the first pieces I pulled for this space. It feels like something you'd find in an heirloom cottage, and it brings a lovely sense of calm and nostalgia above the crib.
This scalloped pendant is such a quiet showstopper. The natural woven material adds texture and interest overhead while keeping the palette warm and organic.
A classic six-drawer dresser in a soft wood finish anchors the room and offers plenty of storage. The finish matches the crib for a cohesive look, and the clean silhouette keeps things feeling fresh.
Changing Pad
Contoured for safety and comfort, and works with almost any changing setup. I like this one because it’s wipeable , vinyl free and contains no harmful chemicals. Used it in my own baby’s nurseries!
Topped with a wipeable changing pad and a soft cotton cover that complements the room’s palette, this setup is practical and polished. Bonus: it’s low-tox and baby-safe.
White rope-textured with a ribbon top - this mirror is filled with classic charm. Love the french country feel of this one!
This petite rattan lamp adds soft lighting for late-night feeds and echoes the woven texture of the light fixture. The pleated shade gives it that cottage-y flair.
These are such a sweet little styling moment. I use wooden toys as décor all the time because they’re beautiful and purposeful. Plus, they’ll grow with your little one when playtime really kicks in.
This rolling basket is adorable and so functional. It’s perfect for books, blankets, or toys and makes cleanup feel just a little more charming.
This wool-blend rug from Anthropologie is the heart of the room. The delicate floral pattern and soft blue-greens set the tone for everything else. It’s plush underfoot and naturally non-toxic, making it a safe, beautiful foundation for baby’s space.
Rug Pad
I always recommend adding a rug pad, especially with cotton rugs because they’re flat-woven and thin. It makes things safer, softer, dampens noise, and extends the life of your rug. Definitely worth it.
You’ll spend a lot of time here, so it needs to be comfy. This one has a clean silhouette, cushy seat, and just enough rock to soothe. It blends seamlessly into the room without feeling bulky or clunky. Upholstered furniture like gliders are notoriously difficult to source non-toxic. Almost all are made out of foam and upholstered in synthetic fabrics that have been chemically stain-proofed. This glider is the most non-toxic options I’ve found - created with natural latex it’s free of polyurethane foam.
This pillow pulls everything together…the vintage floral pattern mirrors the artwork and the rug, and the muted tones are spot on. It gives the glider a little extra grandmillenial charm.
A small, wood-toned side table provides a perfect perch for a book, water bottle, or pacifier. It’s minimal, warm, and doesn’t take up too much floor space.
Adding greenery gives the space life and softness. This live olive tree fits beautifully in the corner and adds that relaxed, natural element that helps balance the more traditional pieces.
These dusty blue linen-look panels soften the room with a gentle pop of color and movement. They're lightweight, simple, and hang beautifully.
Blackout Shades
Underneath the curtains, I always recommend layering with a simple blackout shade. It makes such a difference for naps and early bedtimes, especially in the summer months. Most black-out shades (and curtains) are made with PVC’s/vinyls which heat up with the warmth of the sun and can off-gas for years. This is a great non-toxic brand.
Curtain Rods
A simple warm brass rod pulls in a bit of shine and ties in subtly with the hardware tones throughout the room.
“How Wonderful Life Is” Art
The message of this digital print art is so sweet and the design is perfect storybook charm.
Wall & Trim Paint Color
Recommending a soft, creamy white to keep the room feeling clean and cohesive. It’s warm enough to avoid stark contrast but still gives that crisp finish. This is a Benjamin Moore paint color, I recommend specifying it in their Eco Spec base product for low VOCs (this line has a DECLARE label and is Red List free, which is nerd speak for very trustworthy).
Crib Skirt
This crib skirt adds that perfect finished and feminine touch…plus it’ll allow you to slide storage boxes under the crib discretely!
