The Brooks
This nature-inspired nursery is for the little adventurer at heart. I designed this space to feel cozy and full of curiosity, like a walk through the woods with a tiny trail guide in tow. It blends modern lines with rich wood tones and warm, earthy textures to create a room that feels both stylish and rooted.
The palette leans into forest greens, walnut wood, creamy neutrals, and subtle black accents for contrast. I love the nostalgic nod to National Parks in the gallery wall, it sets the tone for a space that invites exploration and imagination. The crib has clean, modern lines and is Greenguard Gold certified. The dresser is one of my favorite mid-century-inspired finds that doesn’t skimp on storage.
There are so many thoughtful details tucked into this design. The woodland critters mobile, the forest-inspired wood blocks, and that mushroom pouf all bring personality and charm. I included a canvas tent in the corner to encourage quiet play and pretend camping adventures. It adds texture and whimsy without overwhelming the room.
As always, every product in this nursery is sourced with low-toxin materials in mind, so you can feel good about what’s going into your baby’s space. If you're dreaming of a boy’s room that feels grounded, outdoorsy, and effortlessly cool, this look might be the one. Crib
This modern walnut crib sets the tone for the entire space. I love the rich wood tone and simple lines—it feels masculine without being heavy. Plus, it's Greenguard Gold certified for low emissions, which makes it a safer sleeping spot for baby.
Mattress
A non-toxic, certified organic breathable crib mattress is one of the most important foundations for any nursery. This one checks all the boxes for safety and comfort. I used this brand in my own babies’ rooms!
Mattress Protector
I always recommend a waterproof protector that’s free from vinyl and noisy plastic. This one is soft, quiet, and made with safer materials. I suggest ordering 2 so you have a spare in case of messes :)
These bring in a subtle green stripe for visual interest without overwhelming the eye. They’re made from organic cotton - because the fabric that touches baby’s skin should be as clean as possible.
A soft canvas tent is one of my favorite ways to bring imagination into a room. It’s a cozy reading nook, a fort, a campground…it can grow with your little one and spark all kinds of play. I chose this one because the color is perfect and it’s made from GOTS-certified organic fabric.
Woodland Mobile
This sweet woodland mobile ties in perfectly with the forest theme. The mix of felted animals and warm wood adds softness above the crib and keeps the look playful but not overly themed.
These vintage-inspired prints add such a sense of nostalgia and adventure. They’re perfect for introducing baby to the beauty of the natural world. I love the warm tones and classic styling.
A slightly industrial, cage-style flush mount adds some contrast to the otherwise organic, earthy elements. It keeps the ceiling interesting and works well with the black accents scattered throughout the room.
This mid-century-inspired dresser adds both form and function…the walnut finish ties in with the crib, and the clean silhouette keeps it feeling modern.
Changing Pad
Contoured for safety and comfort, and works with almost any changing setup. I like this one because it’s wipeable , vinyl free and contains no harmful chemicals. Used it in my own baby’s nurseries!
This organic cotton cover adds a soft touch to the changing area and pulls the forest green from the rest of the space.
Personal touches go a long way in making a nursery feel special. This fabric pennant adds a playful, boyish touch and feels timeless with the stitched lettering and camp-inspired design.
This lamp brings a vintage camp feel with it’s lantern-like shape. Little touches like these lend a sense of intentionality to the space without being overtly theme-y.
One of my favorite whimsical touches in the room - this little mushroom pouf looks like it came straight out of a storybook forest and doubles as a footrest or low stool. It’s soft, fun, and adds texture in the most charming way.
This geometric wool rug pulls everything together. The green-and-ivory palette is the foundation of the color scheme, and I love the nod to Southwestern textiles. Wool is a great low-toxin option - naturally stain-resistant, flame-retardant-free, and cozy underfoot.
Rug Pad
I always recommend adding a rug pad, especially with cotton rugs because they’re flat-woven and thin. It makes things safer, softer, dampens noise, and extends the life of your rug. Definitely worth it.
This glider is comfortable, supportive, and tailored enough to suit the room’s modern aesthetic. It’s also Greenguard Gold and CertiPUR-US Certified. I also like that it doesn’t scream “nursery”, you could easily move it into another room later.
This pillow adds just enough pattern and color to make the glider feel inviting. The subtle stripes echo the natural palette and add that woodsy, lodge-inspired vibe.
These blocks double as décor and a toy. I love adding natural wooden toys to the nursery, they look beautiful styled on a dresser and encourage open-ended play when baby is ready.
Simple and warm, this table gives you a handy spot for a water bottle, storybook, or monitor. I like the natural wood finish and lightweight design, it balances the heaviness of the glider.
These linen-look panels feel breezy and light. I opted for an unlined style to avoid PVC blackout layers, which are often full of off-gassing chemicals. They frame the window beautifully and soften the vertical space.
Blackout Shades
Underneath the curtains, I always recommend layering with a simple blackout shade. It makes such a difference for naps and early bedtimes, especially in the summer months. Most black-out shades (and curtains) are made with PVC’s/vinyls which heat up with the warmth of the sun and can off-gas for years. I’ve source ones that skip the PVC and flame retardants, but still offer great light control.
Curtain Rods
A simple warm brass rod pulls in a bit of shine and ties in subtly with the hardware tones throughout the room.
Wall Paint Color
I used a creamy white paint color from ECOS Paints as the foundation for this nursery, and it could not be more perfect. It’s a soft, neutral white with just the right hint of warmth…calm, cozy, and totally timeless. It pairs beautifully with deep olive greens, warm woods, and vintage-inspired accents, making it an ideal choice for a baby boy’s room And the best part? ECOS Paints is one of my favorite low-tox paint brands. Their formulas are water-based, zero-VOC, and made without the harsh chemicals found in conventional paints, so you don’t have to stress about off-gassing or air quality in your baby’s room. Just a beautiful, clean backdrop you can feel good about. Always test paint samples in your room at different times of day to ensure it works within your space!
