Non-Toxic Wallpaper Faves:

When you're picking out wallpaper for your nursery or kid's room, you're probably focused on finding the perfect colors and patterns to bring the whole space together. But there’s something else that’s worth keeping in mind too: what the wallpaper is made of. Many popular wallpapers are printed with inks or finished with coatings that can release VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into your baby’s space, which may affect indoor air quality over time. The good news is that there are plenty of beautiful, more thoughtful options out there that are just as lovely, if not more so, once you know where to look. I’m always on the lookout for safer, non-toxic wallpapers and I’m excited to share some of my favorite finds. Here are a few that give that charming, vintage cottage feel.

non-toxic nursery wallpaper cottage florals

  1. This wallpaper is the epitomy of charming! It looks something you’d find in a storybook cottage bedroom. You could pair with sage greens, peachy desaturated pinks, warm taupes and soft creams for a timeless palette that will grow up with your girl.

  2. This botanical print is so timeless and charming. The balance of deep sagey green, warm griege and creamy whites is quintessential cottage.

  3. This blue and oatmeal colored wallpaper is understated and beautiful. I love blue in a girl’s room and think this would be perfect for a little lady.

  4. One thing to know about me - I love a terracotta moment. These sweet rusty-coral blooms combined with the deep slate teal create a very chic and not-overdone color palette.

  5. A good purple is hard to find - I’m loving this desaturated mauvey lilac wallpaper for a vintage-inspired little girl’s room! The purple tone is spot on but importantly, the warm cream of the flowers is perfect as well. You’ll want to stay away from vivid crisp whites if you’re looking for a vintage feel.

  6. A simple, classic block print wallpaper in a sophisticated palette of pale blue, deep green and cream is incredibly sweet. Love how feminine and charming this is, without being pink.

  7. This mauve toned paper is so good! I love the warm cream flowers and stripes of the foreground. This feels very nostalgic and sweet, and is a timeless choice.

  8. I love the scale and tonal nature of this neutral botanical print. It’s very cottage-y but not overtly sweet. Would age well with your little one!

  9. Another sweet block print in a great color combo! Dusty mauves, sage greens, and an accent of deep mustard all against a griege field - it’s pretty without being frilly!
