Non-Toxic Wallpaper Faves: French Inspired
When you're picking out wallpaper for your nursery or kid's room, you're probably focused on finding the perfect colors and patterns to bring the whole space together. But there’s something else that’s worth keeping in mind too: what the wallpaper is made of. Many popular wallpapers are printed with inks or finished with coatings that can release VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into your baby’s space, which may affect indoor air quality over time. The good news is that there are plenty of beautiful, more thoughtful options out there that are just as lovely, if not more so, once you know where to look. I’m always on the lookout for safer, non-toxic wallpapers and I’m excited to share some of my favorite finds. Here are a French country inspired options that give that timeless, traditional, tailored look.
This sweet vine stripe wallpaper is so charming. The pink and green combo feels vintage in the best way and would pair beautifully with warm creams, pale sage, and rattan accents.
I love the soft golden peach and sage tones in this botanical wallpaper. The mid-to-large size scale of the blooms is also perfection.
This bird and branch pattern is a total classic play on chinoiserie. The soft mauves and spring greens are calming and elegant, perfect for a traditional nursery with timeless appeal.
A subtle damask in a creamy mauve-on-beige palette, this wallpaper reads very delicate and calm. Would layer well with dusky pinks and warm whites.
This trellis-style print is so dainty and sweet. The pale florals and scalloped diamonds bring a soft vintage feel without being too fussy or frilly.
The blue and green floral motif on this one is cheerful and playful, but still refined. Would be so cute paired with antique white furniture and natural linen.
A traditional blue toile is always a yes. This one is feminine but not overtly girly, and the pattern feels airy and light. Perfect for a classic space with a soft touch.
This floral vintage stripe in dusty blues and pale pinks feels unique and full of character. This one would be darling in a nursery with a cottage-core vibe.
I love the unexpected purple tone of this wallpaper. The warm cream leafy pattern adds richness and depth without overwhelming the space.
