This floral nursery feels soft, inviting, collected and cozy. From the beginning, the intention was to create a space that feels layered and welcoming with a sense of tradition, but still relaxed enough to live in day to day. A pale pink and green palette gives it a classic, feminine charm, but nothing feels overly precious or too perfect (which is always the goal). Materials and finishes were thoughtfully considered throughout the room, prioritizing natural textiles and responsibly made pieces so the space feels as good as it looks.
The floral wallpaper was the natural starting point, because it sets the tone for the entire room. I love how the pattern feels delicate but not fussy, and how the muted peachy-blush palette allows everything layered on top of it to feel calm and cohesive. Pairing it with the tonal drapery was an intentional decision, since keeping those larger elements within the same warm color family helps the room acheive that calm, cohesive vibe the client was after.
Once the wallpaper foundation was in place, the rest of the room came together by balancing softness with a bit of structure. The warm wood Jenny Lind crib adds just enough contrast to ground the space, while the dresser keeps things feeling light and tailored. The scalloped mirror was one of those pieces I kept coming back to, because it brings in a bit of shape and personality without feeling overdone (and ties in the light wood of the crib from across the room). It’s those small shifts that keep a neutral room from falling flat.
It was important that the glider be comfortable and cozy, because this is where so much of real life will happen - and I love how the subtle stripe adds interest without competing with the rest of the room. With the addition of a side table and floor lamp, it becomes a space that feels inviting and easy to settle into, which is so important during long nights.
And then the finishing layers are what really give the room its personality. The artwork, the woven textures, the little rattan chair - they all help the space feel collected over time rather than styled all at once. Everything was chosen with intention, so it feels balanced, functional, and able to grow with the family without needing to be completely reimagined.
