This nursery came together around a muted tonal green and beige palette, with the goal of creating a space that feels both soft and structured at the same time. I wanted it to feel elevated enough to sit naturally within the client’s well-designed home, but still warm and approachable for everyday life. The overall effect is cozy, tonal, and layered in a way that feels effortless rather than overly designed.
The traditional beige wool area rug sets the foundation for the room, with just enough pattern to bring in movement without overwhelming the space. From there, the olive and warm neutral tones begin to build, carried through the textiles, upholstery, and smaller details. I love working within a restrained palette like this because it allows the textures and materials to do the heavy lifting, creating depth without relying on contrast.
The furniture selections were chosen to reinforce that balance between softness and structure. The light wood crib and dresser introduce warmth and a natural element, while the clean lines keep everything feeling tailored and modern. The round mirror adds a softer moment against the more linear pieces, helping the room feel relaxed and visually balanced - these subtle shifts in shape are what keep the space from feeling too rigid.
The glider was selected with comfort in mind, since this is where so many of the day-to-day moments will happen. I layered on a tonal pillow and a plaid ottoman to complete this cozy moment. Drapery frames the window and brings in another vertical element, while still staying within the same color story so nothing feels disconnected.
Organic materials were thoughtfully selected throughout, with an emphasis on natural fibers and responsibly made pieces, so the room feels as good as it looks. The result is a nursery that feels calm, functional, and designed to grow naturally alongside the child.
