The Isabella

This vintage-inspired storybook swan princess nursery was such a joy to design. The whole look centers around a romantic palette of pale pink and emerald green. It's timeless, elegant, and oh-so-sweet for a baby girl's room. I wanted this space to feel like it stepped out of a fairytale, with a touch of vintage European charm and a soft swan princess theme woven in.

The green floral rug really sets the tone. It brings in that rich color story and adds just the right amount of pattern without feeling too busy. It’s a splurge item, so I tried to balance that by keeping the rest of the big pieces affordable. From there, I chose pieces that feel delicate but grounded. The warm brass crib has such classic curves, and the antique-inspired mirror gives the dresser wall a lovely focal point. Soft blush linen curtains frame the window and add to the cozy, collected feeling in here.

A few of my favorite details? The sweet swan figurine on the dresser, the scalloped blush pillow on the glider, and that leafy ceiling light. It reminds me of something you might find in a Parisian boutique and brings just the right touch of whimsy.

Every piece was chosen not only for it’s aesthetics, but also for it’s low-tox material composition. It's a space designed to grow with your little one and hold all the special memories you'll make along the way.

Crib
This crib adds such a rich, timeless feel to the room. I love how the warm brass finish brings in vintage charm while the simple silhouette keeps it feeling fresh. It’s a standout piece that anchors the whole design. Of course, it’s made with baby-safe finishes and is Greenguard Gold certified.

Mattress
A non-toxic, certified organic breathable crib mattress is one of the most important foundations for any nursery. This one checks all the boxes for safety and comfort. I used this brand in my own babies’ rooms!

Mattress Protector
I always recommend a waterproof protector that’s free from vinyl and noisy plastic. This one is soft, quiet, and made with safer materials. I suggest ordering 2 so you have a spare in case of messes :)

Crib Sheets

These sheets are GOTS-certified organic cotton and come in the perfect pale pink with a swan print that plays so nicely with the rest of the room. They’re simple, organic and easy to mix and match.

Crib Skirt

I chose a simple, classic crib skirt in soft white to balance the richness of the crib. It gives a polished, finished look and adds that light, airy contrast.

Botanical Mobile
This sweet little mobile adds just the right touch of storybook charm without being over-the-top. Remember to mount securely out of reach of baby.

Swan Lake Art

One of my favorite pieces in this room, the swan lake art over the crib creates such a charming focal point and ties in perfectly with the rug.

Ceiling Light

This ceiling light is one of my favorite finds. The petal details add so much texture and a hint of fairytale whimsy. It’s a great way to elevate the space without overpowering it.

Dresser

This dresser has a beautiful curved base and classic silhouette that works perfectly in a vintage-inspired room. It’s Greenguard Gold certified, affordable and available from Amazon!

Changing Pad
Contoured for safety and comfort, and works with almost any changing setup. I like this one because it’s wipeable , vinyl free and contains no harmful chemicals. Used it in my own baby’s nurseries!

Changing Pad Cover

This cotton cover adds a soft touch to the changing area and pulls in a pink and green floral print from the rest of the space.

Arched Brass Mirror

This mirror gives a gorgeous heirloom feel. The curved top and subtle gold detailing echo the crib’s finish and help the whole wall feel cohesive and elevated.

Table Lamp

I added this lamp for a cozy, ambient glow. The soft blush base plays off the curtains and pillow, and the sculptural shape gives it a little personality.

Floral Art

Another layer of color and vintage style. This little print adds personality and depth without taking up much visual space.

Woven Doll Stroller

I couldn’t resist this woven doll stroller! It’s adorable, practical for toy storage, and looks like something passed down through generations. Such a fun, functional styling detail.

Green and Pink Wool Rug

This rug is the heart of the room. The soft green background and vintage-inspired floral motif bring in so much depth, color, and warmth. It’s the piece that really pulls everything together. Wool rugs are all natural and are great options for non-synthetic, non-toxic rugs. They will shed for the first 6-12 months, vacuum regularly to minimize shedding.

Rug Pad
I always recommend adding a rug pad, especially with cotton rugs because they’re flat-woven and thin. It makes things safer, softer, dampens noise, and extends the life of your rug. Definitely worth it.

Glider Chair

You’ll spend a lot of time here, so it needs to be comfy. This one has a clean silhouette, cushy seat, and just enough rock to soothe. It blends seamlessly into the room without feeling bulky or clunky. Upholstered furniture like gliders are notoriously difficult to source non-toxic. Almost all are made out of foam and upholstered in synthetic fabrics that have been chemically stain-proofed. This glider is the most non-toxic options I’ve found - created with natural latex it’s free of polyurethane foam.

Scalloped Pillow

This pillow adds such a sweet touch to the rocker. I love the scallop detail, it feels playful without being over the top. For a nice full look and feel, order a 20”x20” filler pillow for the 18”x18” cover.

Plush Swan Lovey

A soft, simple toy that doubles as décor. Made of organic cotton so it’s safe for baby to snuggle for years to come!

Swan Piggy Bank

This little swan piggy bank is one of the finishing touches that adds so much charm. It feels right at home in this soft, storybook space and ties in the whole swan princess theme.

Curtains

These TwoPages curtains add softness, elegance, and the perfect color in Pink J401-16. The linen fabric is a low-toxin choice, free from the chemicals of polyester and blackout fabrics.

Blackout Shades
Underneath the curtains, I always recommend layering with a simple blackout shade. It makes such a difference for naps and early bedtimes, especially in the summer months. Most black-out shades (and curtains) are made with PVC’s/vinyls which heat up with the warmth of the sun and can off-gas for years. This is a great non-toxic brand.

Curtain Rods
A simple warm brass rod pulls in a bit of shine and ties in subtly with the hardware tones throughout the room.

Wall & Trim Paint Color
I recommend a creamy white with warm undertones to keep the space light and inviting. Paired with soft blues and natural wood, it brings the whole coastal palette together. This is a Benjamin Moore paint color, I recommend specifying it in their Eco Spec base product for low VOCs (this line has a DECLARE label and is Red List free, which is nerd speak for very trustworthy).
