The goal for this nursery was to create a space that felt soft, warm, and modern, with a calm tonal palette that would flow naturally with the rest of the home. The parents wanted their baby girl’s nursery to feel just as thoughtful and elevated as the other spaces in their home. It was important that the design felt feminine and welcoming, but not overly sweet or precious, and that the room would mature gracefully as their daughter grows.
The design direction leans into a modern feminine palette layered with warm neutrals, blush tones, natural textures, and soft lines. Grasscloth wallpaper became the starting point for the room because it immediately introduces texture and depth while keeping the overall palette calm and restrained. I love how grasscloth brings a subtle organic quality to a space, allowing the room to feel both light and grounded at the same time.
Once the walls were established, the rest of the room began to fall into place. A classic white crib keeps the nursery feeling fresh and modern while still allowing the softer layers in the room to shine. Above the crib, a large abstract artwork connects the nursery visually with the rest of the home, introducing a modern artistic moment without overwhelming the palette. The chandelier acts as the jewelry of the room, bringing a sculptural quality overhead while maintaining the light and airy atmosphere.
Organic fabrics were chosen carefully to soften the architecture and bring warmth into the space. Floor-length drapery in a muted blush tone frames the window and helps balance the cool texture of the grasscloth. A large patterned wool rug anchors the furniture and adds gentle visual movement underfoot. The glider was selected with comfort as the priority since this is where so many quiet moments will happen, and layered with soft textiles so the space feels inviting rather than styled.
The dresser and mirror introduce another layer of soft curves, helping the room avoid feeling too structured. Lighting was layered intentionally by combining the chandelier, floor lamp, and table lamp to support evening routines and create a peaceful atmosphere throughout the space.
What I love most about this nursery is how everything comes together in a restrained and intentional way. No single piece dominates the room, yet every element contributes to the overall feeling of calm. The result is a nursery that feels light, thoughtful, and quietly luxurious, designed to support peaceful moments now and adapt beautifully in the years to come.
