This nursery has such a sweet, classic, nostalgic feel to it. The focus was on creating a space that feels calm and collected, with intentional layers and just enough storybook charm to make it feel special. Rather than designing a room that feels tied to a specific age or phase, the goal was to create a foundation that would hold up over time, allowing the space to shift and grow naturally as little one does.

The striped wallpaper sets the tone for the entire room. Stripes are one of my favorite choices for nurseries because they add structure and rhythm without asking for too much attention, and they age beautifully. The perfect neutral rug feels soft and welcoming, while still nodding to tradition, which makes it an easy base for layering. Warm wood tones were introduced throughout to balance the cooler colors and keep the space from feeling too crisp or formal.

Centering a gallery wall of vintage-inspired art above the crib gives the room a clear focal point. A mix of teddy bears playing sports, traditional landscape paintings, and simple textual art comes together to feel like a collection built slowly over time. By varying scale and subject matter, the wall feels personal rather than themed, and those small, layered moments are what make the room feel lived-in instead of styled.

Soft furnishings and texture play a big role in making the nursery feel comfortable and inviting. The upholstered glider and ottoman were chosen with long nights and early mornings in mind, and their subtle pattern adds interest without competing with the rest of the room. Tailored drapery frames the window and gently softens the stripes, while a large neutral rug grounds the space and keeps the furniture feeling connected.

Storage was handled in a way that feels both practical and thoughtful, using woven baskets and simple containers that blend into the room rather than stand out. From a functional standpoint, pathways were kept open, furniture spacing was generous, and lighting was layered to support everyday routines, especially in the evenings. Artwork and accessories were scaled carefully so everything feels balanced and calm around the crib.

What I love most about this nursery is how all of the elements work together without any single piece stealing the spotlight. It’s a room designed to feel easy, cheerful, and comfortable to live in, with a timeless quality that allows it to adapt beautifully as life changes.
